Overview

Seasonal farm-stand ice cream made from the milk of an on-site Jersey cow herd, on a Delaware family farm since 1796.

Woodside Farm Creamery is a family-owned dairy farm and seasonal ice cream stand in Hockessin, Delaware. The Mitchell family established the farm in 1796, operating it as a dairy for 165 years before selling the herd in 1961. The farm returned to milking in 1995, and the creamery opened in 1998. Ice cream is made on-site using milk from the farm's herd of more than 30 Jersey cows. The menu spans classic flavors alongside distinctive house creations, served from a farm-stand with outdoor picnic seating. Woodside Farm was recognized by the state of Delaware as one of its Centennial Farms when the Mitchell family marked 200 years of family-owned farming in New Castle County in 1996.
