Grass-fed Icelandic lamb, pastured Kunekune pork, and grass-fed Belted Galloway beef from a Sonoma County mountain ranch.
Wild Things Ranch is a family-run ranch founded in 2018 on a mountain property near the Sonoma County coast with generations of history. The ranch raises grass-fed Icelandic lamb, pastured Kunekune pigs, and Belted Galloway cattle on rugged mountain rangeland. Icelandic lamb is available seasonally, reflecting the breed's natural breeding cycle, while pork is available locally and beef is sold in whole and half shares. The ranch also offers ranch goods and raw Icelandic fleece. Live sheep and pigs are available for sale as well. Wild Things Ranch sells direct to customers, with lamb orders fulfilled by mail and local options for pickup or delivery. Learn more on their About Page.
Wild Things Ranch rotates animals across mountain pastures to prevent overgrazing, support soil structure and water retention, and encourage plant diversity. Livestock guardian dogs protect the flocks and herds while allowing local wildlife to coexist. The ranch focuses on preventative care to minimize the use of antibiotics and dewormers across all its animals. Pork is raised without hormones, antibiotics, or synthetic inputs. Icelandic sheep graze on a 100% grass-fed diet. Belted Galloway cattle graze native grasses on mountain rangeland and are rotated regularly to allow pasture recovery. The stated goal across all species is to leave the land in better condition for the next generation.
