Redwood Hill Farm ~ Capracopia is a diversified family farm with roots going back to 1968, when the Bice family established the first Grade A goat dairy in Sonoma County. Today, founder Jennifer Bice retains the original farm property, where dairy goats remain the primary focus alongside an olive grove, fruit orchard, flower field, vegetable garden, and chicken flock. The farm supplies Grade A goat milk to Mt. Eitan Cheese, a Sonoma County creamery whose cheese is available during farm tours and at local farmers markets. Redwood Hill Farm ~ Capracopia also breeds nationally recognised dairy goat stock, having won Premier Breeder of Show at the National Dairy Goat Show multiple times. Farm tours are offered on-site, and products are sold through the farm's own shop.
Redwood Hill Farm ~ Capracopia has held Certified Humane certification from Humane Farm Animal Care (HFAC) since 2005, making it the first goat dairy in the United States to receive that designation. HFAC certification requires meeting species-specific standards for animal health and the ability of animals to engage in natural behaviours. The farm's dairy, barns, and homes are solar powered, with panels that track the sun's arc to provide on average 100% of the farm's electricity needs. Rainwater catchment tanks store approximately 100,000 gallons for use during dry months, reducing groundwater draw. All barn manure and straw are composted and used as mulch across the farm's growing areas. The farm does not use pesticides or insecticides, preferring a natural and holistic approach, though it does not hold organic certification.
