Six-generation family farm raising USDA certified natural grass-fed beef, pastured pork, maple syrup, honey, and eggs.
Wheel-View Farm is a sixth-generation family farm that has been in the same family since 1896, with John and Carolyn beginning their stewardship in 1979. The farm raises Belted Galloway and Murray Grey beef cattle and pastured pork, and also produces maple syrup, maple cream, raw honey, spun honey, and eggs. Its grass-fed beef carries USDA certified natural status and is available directly from the farm as well as at select retail partners in the region. The farm is also a recipient of the Leopold Conservation Award for New England, recognizing its work in sustainable land stewardship. Wheel-View Farm manages the Massachusetts Maple Producers Association Warehouse for maple syrup containers. Visitors are welcome by appointment. Learn more on their About Page.
Wheel-View Farm's grass-fed beef comes from a herd of primarily Belted Galloway and Murray Grey heritage breed cattle. The animals graze on the farm's summer pastures and are fed grass-legume hay cut from the farm's own fields during winter. From birth to market, the cattle eat only grass and hay; they are not given corn, growth hormones, or antibiotics. The pork is raised on pasture. The farm uses its heritage breed cattle as a land-management tool, relying on their browsing ability to maintain open space on land not suited to grain or vegetable crops.
