Boer meat goat farm raising goats for meat and live sale, with tallow soap and raw honey.
Frizzell Hill Farm is a family-run operation owned by Rob and Lynette Snedeker, who started raising goats in 2007 after purchasing their first 12 animals. The farm focuses on Boer meat goats, selling frozen cuts (including leg, chops, ground, stew meat, shanks, and organs), whole processed animals, and live goats. Goat meat is also stocked at several local retail and restaurant partners across western Massachusetts. In addition to goat products, the farm sells handmade tallow soaps in multiple scents and raw honey. Learn more on their About Page.
Frizzell Hill Farm raises its Boer goats on 60 acres of browse land, where animals forage freely on brush, brambles, and saplings. The herd is also provided hay, grain, mineral mix, salt blocks, baking soda, and fresh water. Two Maremma Livestock Guard Dogs protect the goats from predators. The farm follows a whole-animal philosophy: organs, bones, and suet from slaughtered animals are all used, with suet rendered into tallow for the farm's soaps. Whole animals are processed to the buyer's specifications at Adam's Slaughterhouse in Athol, MA. Tallow soaps are made with ingredients including tallow, coconut oil, castor oil, food-grade lye, and 100% pure essential oils.
