Pasture-based beef, pork, chicken, eggs, and raw honey from a family farm in eastern Iowa.
West Fork Farmstead is a pasture-based, regenerative family farm run by Natasha, Claire, Brian, and Nancy Wilson outside West Chester, Iowa. Brian and Nancy have farmed the land together since 1982, and their daughters returned to join the operation in more recent years. The farm produces grass-fed beef, pastured chicken, outdoor-raised pork, pastured chicken and duck eggs, and raw honey. Products are sold by the cut or in bulk shares (half and whole hogs, beef quarters and halves, whole chickens). Customers can order for local home delivery, on-farm pickup by appointment, or through a network of local partner businesses. The farm also accepts SNAP EBT. Learn more on their About Page.
West Fork Farmstead raises all of its animals outdoors with the goal of giving them healthy lives with sunshine, fresh air, and room to move. Cattle are rotationally grazed on pastures the farm has restored from former corn and soybean fields; they eat only grass and hay and receive no grain, growth hormones, or preventive antibiotics. No chemicals or synthetic fertilizers are used on pastures or hay fields. Pigs live outdoors year-round and are Berkshire or Berkshire-cross hogs; their feed is made on-farm from non-GMO ingredients. Chickens (Freedom Ranger Color Yield breed) and laying hens forage on pasture and receive a non-GMO feed mix made at the farm. Ducks also roam outside daily and are fed a non-GMO feed mix made on the farm. Honey is extracted with minimal processing: light straining only, with no filtering and no high-heat processing.
