Iowa herb farm producing infused olive oils, vinegars, soaps, salves, and lip balms from farm-grown herbs.
Pickle Creek Herbs is a 100-acre family farm in southeast Iowa run by Jocelyn and Tim Engman, former chemists who left careers in the Chicago area to grow herbs and build a farm-based product line. The farm grows herbs, berries, tomatoes, garlic, peppers, and other fruits, then uses those harvests to make herb-infused olive oils and vinegars, soaps, salves, deodorants, lip balms, dried herbs, and caramels. Every product is made by hand, in small batches, using original recipes developed on the farm. Products are available through the farm's online store and at retail locations across Iowa. Pickle Creek Herbs takes a seed-to-store approach: the same farm that grows the herbs, garlic, berries, tomatoes, and peppers also produces every finished product. Jocelyn and Tim make everything themselves in small batches using their own original recipes. Both founders hold chemistry backgrounds, which they apply to formulating the farm's infused oils, vinegars, and body-care products.
