Six-generation Holstein dairy farm with a farm store and home delivery of glass-bottled milk.
Tully Farms Dairy is a sixth-generation family farm that has been raising Holstein cows and producing milk in Dunstable, Massachusetts since 1872. The farm spans approximately 400 acres across Dunstable and Pepperell, MA, and Hollis, NH. Its herd of roughly 270 registered and grade Holsteins produces around 2,500,000 pounds of milk per year. Milk is sold in returnable glass bottles through the farm's store on Pleasant Street and through home delivery to Dunstable and surrounding towns. The farm store also carries other dairy products, seasonal fresh produce, meat, and additional local goods. Tully Farms Dairy raises its Holstein herd on the farm across its own land and rented acreage used for corn and hay production. The farm milks cows twice a day in a milking parlor built in 1999, with 16 cows milked at a time. Milk is pasteurized using vat pasteurization, a process that uses a lower temperature for a longer period of time than standard methods. The farm produces approximately 15,000 bales of hay, 600 tons of grass silage, and 3,000 tons of corn annually, with any excess sold to local farmers or horse owners. Tully Farms Dairy has been recognized as the Massachusetts Dairy Farm of the Year for 2019, received the Massachusetts Farm Bureau Federation Dairy Farm of Distinction award, and has been designated a Century Farm by the Massachusetts Farm Bureau and the Grange.
