The Colony MA is a beekeeping facility in Tyngsborough founded by third-generation beekeeper Rick Reault. It opened in 2019 after Rick and his wife Sue spent 13 years running the business from a home garage. The Colony is home to three operations: Carlisle Honey, which produces raw local honey from over 1,000 hives across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont; Honeybound Meadery, an award-winning mead producer; and New England Beekeeping Supplies, one of the largest beekeeping supply operations in the region. Carlisle Honey sources its raw local honey from over 1,000 hives managed across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Honeybound Meadery has earned multiple Gold Medals and a Silver Medal at the Mazer Cup International competition. New England Beekeeping Supplies offers bee packages, nucleus colonies (nucs), honey extraction services, and beekeeping consulting alongside its retail equipment line. The facility is built on land with a documented agricultural history stretching back to the early 1700s.
