Trogg's Hollow is a family-owned and operated CSA and market farm in Poplar Grove, Illinois. The family began growing vegetables for other families in 2010 and moved to the Poplar Grove farm in 2013 to meet growing demand. The farm offers year-round vegetable CSA shares, made possible by a high tunnel added in 2016. Shares typically include a variety of vegetables, herbs, eggs, meat, poultry, and cut flowers. Trogg's Hollow also sells seasonal produce at local farmers markets and through an on-farm stand. Alongside vegetables, the farm raises dairy goats, laying hens, turkeys, ducks, guinea fowl, and honey bees.
Trogg's Hollow grows without applying any chemicals, whether conventional or organic, relying instead on what the farm describes as methods in line with organic certification standards. Pest management is handled by hand or by the farm's own animals rather than with pesticides. Soil nutrition is built by returning all animal and vegetable waste to the soil, and green manure crops are planted and tilled under as part of crop rotation. Livestock on the farm are raised on pasture.
