Indoor aquaponics farm growing pesticide-free lettuce and tomatoes year-round for Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.
Traders Hill Farm is an indoor aquaponics farm in Hilliard, Florida, producing organic lettuce and tomatoes year-round. It supplies retailers, restaurants, and families across Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. Through its Farm2Fork program, the farm also partners with regional farms that meet its food-safety standards, extending the reach of locally grown produce across the area. Produce from partner farms moves from harvest to plate within 24 to 48 hours. The farm's parent company, THF Natural Resources, is led by the Blaudow family, who have also established a conservation easement around the original Trader's Hill Trading Post site in what is now Charlton County, Georgia. Learn more on their About Page.
Traders Hill Farm operates a proprietary closed-loop aquaponics system, a combination of aquaculture and hydroponics, that produces crops without pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides and generates zero waste. The system is designed to increase crop yield while reducing environmental impact. The farm holds SQF (Safe Quality Food) Level 3 certification, which it states makes it the only aquaponics farm in the United States to have achieved that status; this certification is maintained through annual on-site audits by a third-party certifying organization. Employees are trained in HACCP food-safety protocols and ServSafe food-handling standards. The farm also participates in the FDA's Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) program.
