Urban farm and farmers market growing vegetables, fruit, and herbs in Northwest Jacksonville
Eartha's Farm & Market is a 10.5-acre urban farm and on-site farmers market operating as an initiative of the Clara White Mission, a nonprofit serving Jacksonville since 1904. Founded in 2012, it sits on land once stewarded by Eartha M.M. White, the humanitarian and activist for whom the farm is named. The farm grows annual vegetables, herbs, and fruit, and aggregates additional produce from other local farmers to keep its table seasonal and local. A weekly Saturday market open to the public accepts SNAP EBT through the Fresh Access Bucks program, which doubles benefits on Florida-grown produce. Eartha's also participates in the Farmers Market Nutrition Program, providing vouchers for mothers and seniors. Beyond produce, it offers farm tours, plot rentals, workshops, youth programs, and wholesale supply to local restaurants and small businesses. Learn more on their About Page.
Eartha's Farm & Market uses organic, regenerative, and sustainable farming practices to grow its crops. From 2019 to 2021 it was a project site for a Natural Resources Conservation Service Conservation and Innovation Grant (NRCS CIG) focused on improving soil health, nutrient density, and yields through biological inputs, integrated pest management, intercropping, and composting. The farm continues to apply those same practices. On-site infrastructure includes a bee apiary, compost facilities, a greenhouse, perennial fruit orchards, annual vegetable plots, and a perennial herb garden.
