Eat Your Yard Jax is a nonprofit edible and medicinal plant nursery, educational center, and regenerative demonstration homestead operating on 46 acres. Founded by Tim Armstrong, it sells edible and medicinal plants, including fruit trees, berry bushes, vines, and herbs, with its inventory sourced specifically for the growing conditions of Northeast Florida. Nearly all plants on offer are grown on-site, allowing visitors to see them thriving before purchase. The farm also grows edible mushrooms and maintains a tilapia aquaponic system. Eat Your Yard Jax offers farm tours, educational classes, field trips for school groups, and a recurring Annual Persimmon Festival. The organization employs autistic and special needs individuals and donates plants and resources to local schools to support edible schoolyard programs. Learn more on their About Page.
Eat Your Yard Jax describes its approach as enabling people to grow their food using organic practices, and identifies itself as a regenerative demonstration homestead. The farm grows nearly all of its nursery inventory on-site, selecting plant varieties specifically suited to the unique growing conditions of Northeast Florida. It operates a tilapia aquaponic system on the property and uses composting as part of its growing approach. The farm also produces edible mushrooms.
