Three Stone Hearth is a worker-owned cooperative kitchen founded in 2006. It prepares and sells nutrient-dense, traditionally processed foods including slow-cooked bone broths, cultured beverages, fermented foods, frozen meals, breads, and dairy. Orders can be placed online each week for in-store pickup or door-to-door delivery across the East Bay, San Francisco, Marin, and Lamorinda areas. The business also runs an in-store Broth Bar and hosts CSA pickups for partner farms. Classes, workshops, and nutritionist-led programs are offered on a recurring basis. Three Stone Hearth sources almost all kitchen ingredients as certified organic, which it also treats as GMO-free. Ingredients from producers who meet or exceed organic standards but have not pursued certification are also accepted. Nearly all meats, eggs, and dairy come from grassfed or pasture-raised animals. Beef is sourced from Marin Sun Farms and Carman Ranch, the first Certified Regenerative Ranch in the U.S. Chicken comes from Mary's Organic (Pittman Farms) in California. Eggs come from Burroughs Family Farms, pastured and organic. Dairy includes Straus Family Creamery organic butter and milk, and Sierra Nevada pasture-raised raw cheeses. Organic produce is sourced through Veritable Vegetable and Earl's Organics, both San Francisco-based distributors working with small family farms. The kitchen also incorporates locally foraged items such as elderberries, nettles, and sea vegetables when available, and follows a seasonal cooking approach.
