Overview
Organic grocery store, farm-sourced deli, and pizzeria run by farmers since 2007.
The Downtown Farm Stand is an organic grocery store, diner, and pizzeria run by Sara and Dave Ring, who have farmed organically since 1999 and opened the store in 2007. The shop carries a selection of produce, meats, dairy, eggs, honey, bread, and pantry staples, all sourced from local farms or certified organic producers. A restaurant was added in 2009, and its kitchen makes nearly every menu item from scratch using organic ingredients. In 2026, the business launched Hoosier Crispy Pizza, a NY-style thin-crust pizza built on a naturally fermented sourdough crust. Members can sign up for weekly or biweekly home grocery delivery, with a minimum order including organic produce plus in-store additions. It also provides catering for events and rents a restored second-floor event space in one of downtown Muncie's oldest buildings. Learn more on their About Page.
The Downtown Farm Stand sources its groceries from local and regional farms that use organic regenerative methods, and fills any gaps with certified organic producers. Weekly farm deliveries include organic fruits and vegetables, locally pastured meats processed by local smokers, cheese from local creameries, 100% grass-fed beef, pastured chicken and pork, and local honey and eggs. The store's stated standard is that all grocery products are organically produced and free of synthetic hormones and antibiotics. The pizzeria's sourdough crust is made from Italian 00 flour through a long, slow natural fermentation process. Pizza toppings are described as locally sourced and organic, including organic tomato sauce and pasture-raised pork. The business also carries Fair Trade products alongside its local and organic selection.
