Family farm growing specialty garlic, farm eggs, and goat milk soap in Dwight, Illinois.
Spain Family Farm is a small family operation run by Andy and Amanda Spain, established in 2022 in Dwight, Illinois. Garlic is the heart of the farm: the Spains grow multiple hardneck varieties, planting and curing every bulb themselves, and turn a portion of the harvest into garlic powder and garlic salt. Nubian goats provide the milk used to make the farm's goat milk soap, kept simple by design with no added colors or unnecessary extras. The farm also produces a dish soap that originated as a product for the Spains' own home, and raises chickens for farm-fresh eggs. Monarch butterfly conservation is an additional part of the farm's work. Learn more on their About Page.
Spain Family Farm grows its garlic using organic practices, with every clove planted and tended by hand from planting through harvest and curing. The farm's goat milk soaps are made with milk from its own Nubian goats and are formulated with intentionally simple ingredient lists, leaving out added colors and what the farm describes as unnecessary extras. The philosophy behind both food and soap production centers on transparency: the farm states it believes customers should know where their food comes from and how it is grown.
