Soil Born Farms

Soil Born Farms Urban Agriculture & Education Project is a nonprofit founded in 2000 and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) in 2004. It operates on the historic American River Ranch, a 55-acre property within the American River Parkway. The farm produces certified organic vegetables, fruit, and culinary herbs, which it sells through a CSA, local stores, restaurants, and a weekly farm stand. Its online marketplace also carries prepared soups made with farm-grown produce, seedlings, fruit trees, herbal goods, and goods from local farm partners. Beyond growing food, Soil Born Farms runs youth and adult education programs, field trips, summer day camp, and food-access initiatives including a Veggie Rx farm box program and a CalFresh Market Match program.
