Overview

Student-run farm producing CCOF organic produce, grass-fed meat, wine, and olive oil in Sonoma County's Russian River Valley.

Shone Farm is a 365-acre working farm operated by Santa Rosa Junior College in the Russian River Valley, where students gain hands-on experience in sustainable agriculture, viticulture, animal science, and natural resource management. Named for Robert Shone, an agricultural leader and SRJC trustee, the farm has served as an educational site since 1972. Its landscape spans vineyards, forests, pastures, gardens, and livestock facilities. The farm produces and sells wine, olive oil, seasonal produce, grass-fed beef and lamb, and other student-made goods under the Shone Farm label. Its Miller Blend Olive Oil earned Best in Show and Double Gold at the 2025 Sonoma County Harvest Fair. It also offers a CSA program, hosts events such as U-pick days and a seasonal harvest festival, and supplies local restaurants and the SRJC Culinary Café. Learn more on their About Page.
