Pasture-raised farm producing grass-fed beef, Kiko goat meat, and certified organic duck eggs.
Salmon Creek Ranch is a working farm on nearly 400 acres of rolling hills, natural pasture, redwood groves, and forest along the Sonoma coast. John and Lesley Brabyn purchased the land in 2007 and have since built it into a multi-species operation raising Scottish Highland and Angus cattle, Kiko goats, and ducks. The ranch produces 100% grass-fed, grass-finished beef; Kiko goat meat and breeding stock; certified organic duck eggs; and seasonal holiday geese. Products are sold on-farm at the Mercantile store, at the Santa Rosa Original Certified Farmers Market, and shipped nationwide. Learn more on their About Page.
Salmon Creek Ranch holds organic certification for its pastures through California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF). Cattle are raised on natural pasture and finished exclusively on grass, with no grain. Duck eggs are certified organic, and the ducks are free-ranging, cage-free, and pasture-raised. Ducks receive a locally produced, certified organic feed containing grain, vitamins, and minerals, and are raised without hormones, GMOs, or antibiotics. The ranch uses only water from on-property underground springs to wash eggs, applies no chemicals or whiteners, and does not use artificial light to extend the natural laying cycle. The ranch is also a member of the Sonoma County Farm Bureau and the American Kiko Goat Association.
