Stemple Creek Ranch is a fourth-generation family ranch in the coastal hills of Northern California, run by Loren and Lisa Poncia. The Poncia family has farmed this land for over a century, beginning with a dairy operation established by Italian immigrant Angelo Poncia. Today the ranch raises 100% grass-fed, grass-finished beef and lamb, pasture-raised pork, and organic pasture-raised chicken. Cuts are available individually, in variety and subscription boxes, and as whole or half animal shares. Stemple Creek Ranch practices regenerative agriculture focused on soil health, carbon sequestration, and biodiversity. Most pastureland is certified organic by Marin Organic Certified Agriculture (MOCA) since 2008 and California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) since 2025. Beef and lamb are 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, eating no grain, corn, or soy, and receiving no artificial hormones, growth promotants, or antibiotics. Animals spend their entire lives on open pasture. The ranch rotationally grazes its stock and partners with ranchers in Northern California and Oregon who raise cattle to similar standards. Pigs roam a large outdoor eucalyptus grove on the home ranch, fed non-GMO wheat, barley, and peas alongside natural forage. Organic pasture-raised chicken comes from partner Big Bluff Ranch. Animal welfare is certified through the Global Animal Partnership, and the home ranch is Audubon Certified as Grazed on Bird Friendly Land.
