Certified organic apple farm producing apple cider vinegars, shrubs, caramels, and granola in small batches.
Little Apple Treats is an organic apple farm and small-batch food producer in Sebastopol, California. Founded by Joanne, who created the farm's first batch of apple cider vinegar in 2009, the business grows heirloom apple varieties and turns them into a full line of products including apple cider vinegars, cider vinegar shrubs, apple cider caramels, granola, and dried fruit snacks. All recipes are Joanne's originals, and products are made in the farm's own certified manufacturing facility steps from the orchard. Little Apple Treats has earned multiple Good Food Awards and SOFI Awards, and has been featured by outlets including Martha Stewart, Bon Appétit, and Wirecutter. Learn more on their About Page.
Little Apple Treats grows a range of heirloom apple varieties, including Pink Pearl, Red Rome Beauty, Yellow Bellflower, Gravenstein, and Golden Delicious, on an orchard that has been certified organic since 2003. Trees are rain-irrigated, and all apple pomace and waste is returned to the orchard as fertilizer, keeping the operation a closed-loop system from peel to pip. Apple cider vinegars and shrubs are fermented from fresh-pressed juice for a full year in French oak wine barrels. Caramels are made using juice slowly boiled down into a rich apple syrup. Ingredients the farm does not grow itself are sourced from partner farms that share its commitment to organic practices and environmental sustainability.
