Grass-fed Icelandic lamb and heritage pastured pork from a family farm along the Deerfield River.
River Bard Farm is a family-run, pasture-based farm operating since 2018 along the Deerfield River in Deerfield, Massachusetts. The farm raises registered Icelandic sheep and heritage-breed pigs, including Gloucestershire Old Spots and Large Black Hogs, for grass-fed lamb and pastured pork. It also keeps Lamancha and Guernsey dairy goats, free-range chickens, ducks, geese, coturnix quail, and Flemish Giant rabbits. Meat is sold as whole or half shares, custom-cut individual cuts, and curated packs, with delivery available within 30 miles of the farm or pick-up on-site. Farm visits are by appointment. River Bard Farm also offers a goatscaping service.
River Bard Farm raises its Icelandic lamb on dam's milk and pasture only, with no grain, and free from artificial growth hormones and antibiotics. Heritage pigs are raised free-range on pasture and woodland without artificial growth hormones, antibiotics, or feed containing animal by-products. The Gloucestershire Old Spot and Large Black Hog breeds are both listed by the Livestock Conservancy as threatened or critical heritage breeds. All meat is processed at a USDA-inspected facility and custom-cut to each customer's specifications. Chickens, ducks, and geese are free-range.
