Sawmill Herb Farm is a certified organic medicinal herb farm founded in 2013 by Susan Pincus, a somatic practitioner, herbalist, naturalist, and farmer with over 18 years of experience growing food and medicine using regenerative methods. The farm is located at Brook's Bend Farm in Montague, Massachusetts. Its offerings include a seasonal Fresh Herb CSA, plant starts, dried herbs, herbal tea blends, tinctures, and apothecary products. Sawmill Herb Farm also runs the Somatic Herbalism Apprenticeship, a seven-month land-based program that weaves earth-centered healing with body-centered awareness, alongside workshops and event rental space. Sawmill Herb Farm grows its herbs using certified organic practices and stewards the land by focusing on nourishing the soil ecosystem through cover crops, compost, perennials, pollinator hedgerows, and living soils. Apothecary products are processed by hand rather than by machine or mill, a method the farm uses to avoid the high heat that can diminish herb quality and volatilize oils. Occasional stems are left in the final dried products. The farm's herbs are naturally caffeine-free.
