Regenerative heritage-breed meat farm offering beef, pork, lamb, and poultry by the cut, bulk, and meat share
Radical Roots Farm is a woman-owned and veteran-operated regenerative family farm that has been raising heritage-breed livestock since 2015. It offers beef, pork, lamb, and poultry available by the individual cut, in bulk (half or whole animal), and through meat share subscriptions. The farm hand-selects its animals based on hardiness, genetics, and flavor, with a focus on heritage breeds including Lincoln Red and Scottish Highland cattle, and Registered Mulefoot and Red Wattle hogs. Many of the breeds it raises appear on the Livestock Conservancy's list of endangered breeds. Farm experiences and on-farm visits are also available by appointment. Learn more on their About Page.
Radical Roots Farm practices low-input regenerative farming, raising its animals on pasture and in forest using a rotational grazing system. It does not use synthetic pesticides, harmful chemicals, GMOs, or unnecessary hormones. Animals are described as free-range, and the farm selects heritage breeds for their hardiness, nutrient density, and flavor rather than fast growth. The farm's stated goal is to build a self-sustaining ecosystem that improves the land rather than depleting it.
