Multi-generational family farm raising grass-fed beef, pastured lamb, heritage pork, and eggs in Connecticut.
Kindred Crossings is a family farm with roots on the same land since 1912. The farm has bred registered Shropshire sheep since 1960 and has since added Texel sheep, Belted Galloway and White Galloway cattle, and Heritage Berkshire pigs. It raises 100% grass-fed, grass-finished Belted Galloway and Galloway beef, pastured Shropshire and Texel lamb, and heritage Berkshire pork, along with eggs and whole chickens. Products are available through farm curbside pickup by appointment, at the Storrs and Willimantic Farmers Markets on Saturdays, and via an online shop. The farm also offers a Farm Share CSA card, which gives members flexible weekly purchasing at the farmers market and early access to new products. Wool blankets and scarves round out the offerings.
Kindred Crossings raises 100% grass-fed, grass-finished beef from Belted Galloway and Galloway cattle, pastured Shropshire and Texel lamb, and Heritage Berkshire pork. The farm describes its approach as regenerative and sustainable, with a focus on the preservation and production of purebred heritage livestock breeds. All cattle and sheep are born on the farm. Berkshire piglets are sourced from another Connecticut farm and raised on pasture. The farm's own hay and balage come from its own fields, and on-farm manure is used on those fields. Animals are processed at a USDA-inspected slaughter and processing facility.
