Nonprofit farm with a farmstand, food education programs, and farmer pathways on the California coast
Pie Ranch is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit farm co-founded in 2002 that advances food education, regenerative agriculture, and regional food-system collaboration. Its farmstand carries farm-grown products including Floriani polenta, Senatore Cappelli whole grain flour, blue corn flour, dry heirloom beans, preserves, grass-fed beef, and locally pastured chicken and pork. Pies are baked weekly by long-time partner Companion Bakeshop and sold at the farmstand. Beyond the stand, Pie Ranch runs youth programs, field trips, private farm retreats, an artist residency, and farmer-pathway programs. It also hosts recurring community events such as work days and barn dances on the farm. Learn more on their About Page.
Pie Ranch operates as a working farm and grows food on-site, including Floriani corn that it grows and mills into polenta. The farm practices regenerative agriculture and has undertaken native plant restoration and creek restoration on its land. Beef sold at the farmstand is grass-fed; chicken and pork are locally pastured. The organization works with regional farms and partners to support equitable food systems and increase food access.
