Pasture-raised broiler chickens, pork, and eggs from an organic farm on the Ano Nuevo Peninsula coastline.
Fogline Farm has raised pasture-raised poultry, pork, and eggs on the Northern California coast since 2009. Caleb Barron, who trained at the UCSC CASFS ecological horticulture apprenticeship and at Pie Ranch, took over as owner and farmer in 2014. The farm operates on 40 acres adjacent to Año Nuevo State Park. Chickens are moved regularly to fresh grass as part of the farm's integrated approach to raising livestock. Products are sold at Bay Area farmers markets and through a CSA. The farm also runs a county-certified kitchen in downtown Santa Cruz, where butchers process chicken into a range of cuts. Fogline Farm raises organic-fed, pasture-raised broiler chickens, giving birds continuous access to fresh grass, bugs, worms, fresh air, and sunlight. Chickens are moved to fresh pasture as a core element of the farm's management. The farm describes itself as a fully integrated organic farm. Pork and eggs are also raised on pasture alongside the poultry operation.
