Pezzini Farms is a family-owned heirloom artichoke farm and retail market that has grown Green Globe artichokes in Castroville, California for over fifty years. The farm's heirloom root stock was brought to California from Italy by founder Valentino Pezzini, and the operation is now run by the fourth generation of the Pezzini family. Alongside fresh artichokes, the on-farm market carries a wide range of goods: produce, dips and sauces, vinaigrettes and oils, seasonings, snacks, candy, coffee, teas, and home and kitchen accessories. Pezzini Farms grows heirloom Green Globe artichokes, a variety whose root stock has been maintained by the family across multiple generations rather than replanted from seed each year. The plants are perennial, grown from the same lineage the Pezzini family brought over from Italy.
