Family-run market garden and CSA offering seasonal vegetables grown on four acres at Foxhollow Farm.
Pavel's Garden is a family-run market garden and CSA operating on four leased acres at Foxhollow Farm in Oldham County, Kentucky. The garden grows produce year-round, using season-extension methods including cover cloths and unheated high tunnels. Shares run from late May through mid-November and include 6 to 8 items per week, harvested the day before pickup. Spring shares lean toward greens; summer shares feature tomatoes, beans, cucumbers, peppers, squash, and more; fall shares include kale, radicchio, watermelon radishes, broccoli, and cauliflower. Produce is also available at the Douglass Loop Farmer's Market in Louisville and, seasonally, at the Hyde Park Farmer's Market in Cincinnati. CSA shares are limited in number and prioritize returning members. Learn more on their About Page.
Pavel's Garden grows using natural methods, including crop rotations, cover cropping, and fresh compost as the primary source of fertility. The farm avoids conventional fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides. The growers also employ biodynamic methods, including herbal sprays and preparations, guided by the philosophy that a farm is a living organism. The land is leased from Foxhollow Farm, itself a biodynamic, grass-fed beef operation.
