March Farm

In its greenhouses and on crop vegetables, March Farm practices Integrated Pest Management (IPM) alongside an organic-first approach. The team plants companion flowers and plants to attract beneficial insects, scouts regularly for potential problems, and uses beneficial insects and organic-based products to address issues before they spread. Greenhouse crops are grown in a coconut coir medium and fed through drip irrigation with carefully balanced fertilizers. For orchard fruit and corn, conventional sprays are used only on an as-needed basis rather than a heavy preventative schedule; the farm works with Advanced Eco Agriculture to minimize their use. Much of what is applied in the orchards is a biological-based nutrient spray intended to help trees build natural resistance to disease and stress. The farm mows under orchard trees instead of using herbicides or weed killers to further reduce its chemical footprint.
