Fourth-generation family farm selling pasture-raised meats, eggs, and a locally sourced farm market.
Young's Longrange Farm is a fourth-generation, family-operated farm in Connecticut. Its on-site Bunkhouse Market stocks non-GMO beef, pork, chicken, and eggs year-round, along with seasonal vegetables and herbs grown by family members. The market also carries goods from neighboring local farms and small businesses, including honey, maple syrup, goat cheese, fresh milk, soaps, candles, and hardwood goods. Chicken eggs, duck eggs, and goose eggs are all available. Seasonal turkey is offered around Thanksgiving. The farm also participates as a farmers' market vendor.
All animals raised on the farm are raised without growth hormones or antibiotics, and are fed non-GMO feed sourced from Connecticut. Pasture-raised beef steers are primarily grass-fed, with a supplemental diet of non-GMO grain and non-GMO corn that is locally grown and produced. All meats are processed and packaged at local USDA-inspected facilities. Any products not grown or produced on the farm itself are sourced from other local family farms and businesses, a standard the farm describes as '100% Local 100% of the time.'
