Tenth-generation family farm and orchard with pick-your-own apples, cider, cider donuts, and a seasonal farm stand.
Averill Farm is a family farm operated continuously by the Averill family since the land was purchased in 1746. The 260-acre property centers on a 30-acre apple and pear orchard, and also produces hay and cut-your-own Christmas trees. The farm grows over 100 apple varieties, around 20 of which are available for pick-your-own guests during the fall season. Tyson Averill, representing the tenth generation, runs the farm alongside his wife Jennifer and his parents Sam and Susan. At the farm stand, visitors can find the farm's own sweet cider, apple cider donuts, cut flowers, and housemade jams and jellies. The farm also carries locally sourced goods including pies, pumpkins, gourds, mums, maple syrup, honey, cheddar cheese, garlic, potatoes, and tomatoes. Learn more on their About Page.
Averill Farm's cider is made exclusively from tree-picked apples, not fruit that has fallen to the ground. The farm grows more than 100 apple and pear varieties across its 30-acre orchard, with roughly 20 types open for pick-your-own harvesting each fall. Goods sold alongside the farm's own produce are sourced from nearby farms and producers.
