Maddox Family Farms is a small family farm in southeastern Idaho raising grass-fed and grass-finished beef, pastured pork, pasture-raised poultry, and eggs. The farm describes its approach as "beyond organic," focusing on producing meat and eggs it considers free of toxins and chemical inputs. Products are available through an online store with scheduled pickup locations and a direct-to-door shipping option. The farm aims to connect customers directly with the people growing their food and to educate them about where it comes from. Learn more on their About Page.
Maddox Family Farms raises its beef entirely on pasture, grass-fed and grass-finished, with no grain or corn. In winter, cattle receive clean dry hay and non-GMO, chemical-free barley fodder to provide live grass year-round. Cattle are supplemented with apple cider vinegar, vitamins, minerals, and probiotics. Pigs forage on pasture grass and also receive non-GMO, chemical-free barley fodder; they are fed non-GMO grain with no corn or soy, and are kept on apple cider vinegar, vitamins, minerals, and probiotics. Poultry are raised on pasture in mobile chicken tractors that are moved daily to fresh grass, supplemented with a local non-GMO grain containing no corn or soy. Poultry receive no vaccines, antibiotics, or growth hormones. The farm uses an intensive grazing management system, and manure is composted into fertilizer rather than released into waterways. Cured and seasoned products contain no MSG or preservatives.
