Swore Farms is a family-owned farm in Pocatello, Idaho, run by Mike and Wendy Swore. Mike is a third-generation farmer, and the family has worked the land together for over 20 years. The farm grows a wide variety of vegetables and offers a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program, delivering weekly produce boxes for 18 to 19 weeks each harvest season. Shares are available in full and half sizes, with a work-share option for members who help with weeding. Sweet corn is available each late summer and early fall, and the farm sells produce at the Pocatello Farmers Market on Saturdays. Swore Farms describes itself as a minimalist farm. Many of its crops are grown organically, and its main fertilizer is an organic solution made from fish waste and worm castings. The farm practices crop rotation to help reduce pests and weeds, and relies heavily on manual hoeing rather than heavy chemical intervention. CSA members receive priority on the harvest: all CSA boxes are filled before any produce goes to market.
