Laepple Organic Farm

Laepple Organic Farm applies no chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides to its crops. Animals are raised drug-free and without hormone implants. Beef cattle are not castrated and are grass-fed and finished; they are never fed grain or silage, finishing instead on grass and occasional cull produce from the farm. Cows eat grass and hay; chickens and pigs eat grain, all of it grown on the farm. Soil fertility is maintained through rotational grazing, cover crops, and composted cattle manure from winter straw bedding packs. A 10 kW solar system installed on the barn roof generates more electricity than the farm consumes.
