Arrowhead Meats Ltd. is a family farm in Gowanstown, Ontario, run by Luke and Connie Erb, both lifelong farmers from Southern Ontario's farming community. The farm has been operating since 2014 and raises 100% grass-fed beef, pastured heritage pork, and non-GMO pastured chicken, along with pastured turkey. Customers can order individual cuts or opt for bulk boxes, including half or whole animals. Beyond meat, Arrowhead also offers maple syrup, unpasteurized local honey, all-natural tallow balm, and dog treats. Arrowhead's beef herd is mostly Black Angus, with some Red Angus and Simmental crosses, and a small group of Scottish Highlands. Cattle are raised in a low-stress environment, grass-fed year-round, and slaughtered in fall of their second year. All meats are antibiotic and hormone free. Heritage pork comes from a Berkshire and Tamworth cross, pasture-raised with outdoor space, including clover pastures and fruit trees. Pigs eat a varied diet of grass, clover, barley, oats, peas, fruits, and non-GMO corn and soybeans. The farm states pastures have had no herbicides or pesticides for five to seven years. Any animal receiving medical treatment is disclosed to customers. Chickens come from a local partner farmer, raised non-GMO and pastured with outdoor access, with beaks and wings never clipped. Pigs are processed at an abattoir ten minutes away. The farm encourages ordering by the half or whole animal for sustainable use.
