Family farm raising 100% grass-fed, grass-finished Black Angus beef, pastured pork, chicken, turkey, and unpasteurized honey in Perth County.
Wilderness Ranch is a family farm in Perth County, Southern Ontario, raising 100% grass-fed and grass-finished Black Angus beef alongside pastured pork, chicken, and turkey. The farm also produces unpasteurized wildflower honey, garden produce, and carries grass-fed dairy. Every animal in the beef program is born and raised on the ranch itself: Wilderness Ranch does not purchase yearling cattle from outside farms. Beef is available as whole or half animals, 30-pound mixed boxes, or individual cuts including steaks, roasts, ground beef, ribs, and bones. The farm ships and delivers across Southern Ontario. All Black Angus beef cattle at Wilderness Ranch are 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, meaning they receive no grain at any point in their lives. In spring, summer, and autumn the cattle graze on pasture; during winter they are fed hay. Calving is timed to spring, when the farm considers natural conditions most favorable. Yearlings designated for beef are moved to fresh grass daily and harvested in the fall, when the farm notes that grass is naturally higher in sugars, protein, and energy. The ranch has spent years developing its herd genetics to achieve consistency across animals. Pigs in the pastured pork program are raised without corn, wheat, or soy.
