Nubian dairy goat farm raising show stock and selling raw goat milk, goat cheese, and goat milk soap.
Jesta Farm is a Nubian dairy goat operation in Hampton Falls, New Hampshire, with roots going back to a 4-H project started in the summer of 1982. The herd is shown throughout New England and has competed at national shows. Does are milked twice a day, and the farm sells raw goat milk directly from the farm and through local farmers markets. In addition to milk, Jesta Farm produces goat cheese, goat yogurt, and all-natural goat milk soap in a range of fragrances. Registered goats are also available for purchase, with kids available to order. Learn more on their About Page.
Each doe is milked twice a day. Newborn kids are taken away at birth, raised on heat-treated colostrum and pasteurized milk, and housed separately from mature stock until they freshen and join the main herd. Kids are started on a 16% dairy pellet and second-cut hay, then weaned at 10 to 12 weeks. The herd is vaccinated with Bar-Vac CDT. Jesta Farm participates in ADGA's Dairy Herd Improvement Registry (DHIR) production testing and Linear Appraisal, and as of the last reported count, more than 40 Jesta Farm animals had earned the ADGA Superior Genetics (SG) Award. The farm has also bred multiple Recorded Grade Breed Leaders and Permanent Grand Champions.
