Family farm raising grass-fed beef, naturally fed pork, and free-range eggs since 1923.
Hurd Farm is a family-owned and operated farm that has worked the same land in Hampton, New Hampshire since 1923. Steve Hurd, the third generation to live and farm there, runs the operation alongside his wife Sheryl and their two daughters. The farm raises grass-fed beef, naturally fed pork, and free-range eggs. Cuts can be purchased as whole, half, or individual frozen portions, either at the farm store or at local farmers markets. Hurd Farm also offers CSA shares. In 2005, the family placed a conservation easement on the property to permanently protect the land from development. Learn more on their About Page.
Hurd Farm raises 100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef using Black Angus and Pinzgauer cross cattle. The animals have access to fresh pasture throughout the grazing season and are fed hay harvested from the farm's own fields during winter. All animals are raised on an all-natural diet with no added antibiotics or growth stimulants. Pork is fed a variety of fruits and vegetables, with feed that includes minerals, probiotics, and added Vitamin E. Eggs come from Red Sex Link chickens raised as free-range. The farm spans 160 acres, which is permanently preserved under a conservation easement.
