Family ranch beef sold as bulk shares, beef boxes, and ground beef, raised on a fifth-generation Angus cattle ranch.
Jenner Family Beef is the direct-to-consumer branch of Jenner Cattle Company, a family-owned Angus cattle ranch that has operated continuously since 1872 and is now in its fifth generation. The ranch is based in Scott Valley, Siskiyou County, in the northernmost part of California. Jenner Family Beef sells beef directly to families in the form of bulk shares (1/8, 1/4, 1/2, and whole beef), bundled beef boxes, and ground beef boxes. The herd is a closed herd: cattle are born, raised, and finished on the ranch and never leave until sale. All cuts are USDA-inspected, individually vacuum-sealed, and shipped with dry ice in insulated, recyclable packaging. Learn more on their About Page.
Jenner Family Beef's Angus cattle are certified 100% Natural through annual third-party audit and program verification by Ranchers Connecting Ranchers. Under this certification, cattle are never fed animal by-products, never given steroids or added hormones, and never treated with antibiotics. Animals spend their entire lives on pasture, roaming native grassland. In the final months before harvest, the ranch offers free-choice, homegrown chopped barley while cattle remain on pasture. All hay and grain fed to the herd is grown and harvested on the ranch's own land. The ranch replants native pasture grasses using past seed, rotates crops to maintain soil health, and uses modern irrigation methods to conserve water. Beef is processed at a USDA-inspected facility that follows no-stress handling and humane harvesting practices.
