Family farm selling raw cow and goat milk, pastured pork, free-range eggs, and goat milk soap
Hoffman's Little Acres is a small, family-owned farm in central Illinois run by Scott and Anna Hoffman and their four children. The farm produces raw Jersey cow milk, seasonal raw goat milk, free-range eggs, pork cuts, raw local honey, and goat milk soap and bath products. Products are sold through a self-serve on-site farm store. Anna and Scott both have deep roots in dairy farming, and the farm reflects a quality-over-quantity approach to raising animals for food. The dairy herd carries the A2 protein in their milk, and all cows and goats are tested negative for diseases including Johne's, Q-Fever, and Brucellosis. Raw milk is sold under permit #15004. No artificial growth hormones or routine antibiotics are used on any animals at Hoffman's Little Acres. The dairy cows are predominantly grass-fed and pastured, eating alfalfa hay, organic hay pellets, and fresh grass. A small number of older cows may receive non-GMO corn at milking time to maintain body condition through winter months. Goat milk is produced seasonally, with the goats fed pasture, hay, and a commercial grain diet. Pigs are raised outdoors and fed on extra raw milk, non-GMO corn, garden produce, and eggs. Free-range hens have no fences and their diet is supplemented with a non-GMO local feed mix and milk. The farm's raw milk is tested monthly for bacteria to maintain its state permit.
