Overview
North Texas apiary selling raw wildflower honey, creamed honey, and live bees, with hive management and beekeeping education.
Harmony Hollow Apiaries is a North Texas honeybee operation run by Rex Smith and Laura Winters, offering raw wildflower honey, creamed honey, live nucleus colonies, beeswax, and pollination services. Honey is sold in liquid and creamed forms, with creamed varieties available in unflavored, lemon, blood orange, and cinnamon. Nucleus colonies are available for pickup seasonally. The apiary also manages hives on behalf of North Texas landowners seeking to qualify for Texas agricultural tax valuation on properties of five to twenty acres. Beekeeping classes are offered regularly, combining classroom instruction with hands-on hive inspections. Rex Smith participates in the Texas Master Beekeeper program, and both he and Laura Winters present at regional beekeeping conferences and schools across Texas. Learn more on their About Page.
Harmony Hollow Apiaries produces raw, unpasteurized honey that is never heated beyond normal ambient temperatures during extraction or bottling. Honey is lightly strained through a single pass to remove hive debris and wax cappings, but pollen is intentionally left in. Queens are selected and bred over time for behavior, pollination ability, honey production, and varroa-sensitive hygiene; the long-term goal is varroa-sensitive hygiene behavior across all bee yards. The apiary packages honey in re-usable mason jars and squeeze bottles as a sustainability practice. Harmony Hollow is registered with the Texas Apiary Inspection Service (TAIS) at Texas A&M University, and transport permits for the apiary have been maintained on record.
