Fenwood Farm is a family-run operation in Brant, Ontario, founded and led by John and Carol Fennema alongside their children and extended family. The farm raises two lines of chicken: certified organic and raised-without-antibiotics (RWA), along with beef, pork, and turkey. It also carries wild-caught seafood. Shoppers can buy direct through the on-site farm store, through an online store with home delivery, or through wholesale accounts. The farm store also stocks items including honey, maple syrup, and Mapleton Organic ice cream.
Fenwood Farm's organic chicken is certified organic by Pro-Cert. The birds are raised without antibiotics or synthetic growth promotants and fed an exclusive blend of 100% organic grains, corn, and legumes grown without pesticides, fungicides, or herbicides. No chlorine is used in the chilling process, and the chickens are raised with access to clean water (free of chlorine and fluorides), fresh air, and natural sunlight. The raised-without-antibiotics (RWA) chicken is fed vitamins, minerals, probiotics, and grains, with no animal by-products, bakery waste, or growth promotants, and is air-chilled. The farm's beef is sourced from the Simcoe area, ranges free year-round, and is fed primarily on organic grass and hay (approximately 95% of diet), with non-GMO grain supplementation in winter. Beef is processed by a small, family-owned butcher in Simcoe.
