El Cerrito Natural Grocery is an independent natural food retailer that opened in 1988 as the second location of the Natural Grocery Company, which got its start in Berkeley. The store carries locally sourced organic produce, local and sustainably raised meats, fish, and poultry, bulk foods, dairy, frozen items, and a large selection of health and wellness products and supplements. Next door, the Prepared Food Annex offers prepared foods, an organic salad bar, a juice bar and cafe, wine and beer, floral, and massage.
