Carlton Farms is a diversified sustainable family farm established in 1919 and now in its fourth generation of family operation. The farm produces raw cow's milk for pets, free-range eggs, grass-fed beef and lamb, pasture-raised pork, and pasture-raised poultry. Products can be purchased at an on-farm store or through delivery routes around the Atlanta area. Beyond its market, Carlton Farms hosts a seasonal corn maze, school field trips, and hay rides for visitors. The farm sells only direct-to-consumer, from its hands to the buyer's. All animals at Carlton Farms have continuous access to organically managed grass pastures. Beef cattle are grass-fed and receive no grain. Chickens, pigs, and dairy cows receive supplemental feed that is locally produced and non-GMO; the farm uses organic mineral supplements and organic anti-parasitic ingredients in that feed. The farm states it does not subject animals to highly confined or unnatural conditions, and intends for each species to exhibit natural behaviors: cattle grazing and chewing cud, pigs rooting and wallowing, and chickens ranging pastures while foraging for insects. Carlton Farms sells exclusively direct-to-consumer, with no intermediary between farmer and buyer.
