Small family farm raising pasture-raised eggs, pork, and vegetables, with farm-made goods and body care products.
Footehills Farmhouse is a small, family-owned and operated farm on 18 acres in Northwest Georgia. The farm raises pigs, chickens, ducks, sheep, and goats, and also tends a garden for vegetables and fresh herbs. Its product range spans meats, eggs, breads, jams and jellies, salts and spices, body care, and an apothecary line. Products are available for pick-up at the farm, through an online shop, and at the Cartersville Farmers Market. Visitors are welcome to arrange a farm tour, where they can feed the animals and pick fresh vegetables. A farm-stay room is also offered through Airbnb. Learn more on their About Page.
Footehills Farmhouse raises its pigs on pasture and forest using rotational grazing to maintain forage quality. Pigs are given room to graze, root, and wallow, and their diet is supplemented with table scraps to match instinctive feeding behavior. All meats, including pork, are USDA approved. Eggs are pasture-raised: hens live outside from dawn to dusk on open pastures rather than in cages or cage-free barns. The flock includes multiple heritage breeds, producing eggs in a range of shell colors.
