Bradley & Son Grass Fed Beef is a family-run black angus cow-calf operation based in Durham, California, with roots tracing back to the 1930s when founder Francis Bradley transitioned from dairy to beef cattle. In 2009, Jerry Bradley and his son Nick formalized the venture as Bradley & Son Cattle, LLC, and later launched Bradley & Son Grass Fed Beef to bring their beef directly to local communities. The farm raises cattle entirely on open pasture, moving the herd twice a year between Chico and the Sierra Nevada to ensure year-round access to quality grass. Beef is available as individual cuts, roasts, and ground beef, processed through USDA-inspected facilities. Bradley & Son Grass Fed Beef raises cattle that are grass-fed, grass-finished, antibiotic-free, non-GMO, and raised without added hormones. The operation is verified through "Where Food Comes From" for the following attributes: Non-GMO Project Compliant, Non-Hormone Treated Cattle, Verified Natural Beef, beefCARE Certified, Verified Grass Fed, Source Verified, Age Verified, and Black Angus Verified. The herd is moved twice a year between Chico and the Sierra Nevada to keep cattle on optimal pasture throughout the year. Pastures are managed without fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides; instead, the farm uses rotational grazing to support natural biodiversity and soil health, and monitors land load during periods of drought. Waterway protection is also part of the stated pasture management approach. All beef is processed at USDA-inspected facilities, and products are packaged using either shrink wrapping or vacuum sealing to extend shelf life.
