U-pick fruit farm and country store growing berries, apples, vegetables, and more in central Iowa since 1974.
Berry Patch Farm has been growing fruit and produce for central Iowa since 1974, originally established by Dean and Judy Henry. In 2025, Joe and Kristin Wakeman purchased the farm to carry on its legacy, with the Henry family still involved on-site. The farm grows strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, cherries, currants, gooseberries, honeyberries, apples, pumpkins, rhubarb, and vegetables across its seasonal calendar. Visitors can pick their own produce in the fields or purchase pre-picked orders. The farm also operates a country store stocked with jams, jellies, apple butter, elderberry products, eggs, freeze-dried fruit, fresh-baked goods, and more. Produce is also available through CSA (community supported agriculture) and at markets. Learn more on their About Page.
Berry Patch Farm applies sustainable farming techniques across all of its crops. Some crops are produced organically, while others are grown using integrated pest management (IPM) methods. The farm uses compost extensively for fertilizer and weed control, and relies on drip irrigation drawing from on-site well water to grow its apples and berries.
