Heritage-breed farm offering grass-fed beef, pasture-raised pork, eggs, and a monthly meat membership.
Aradia Farm is a small family farm started by the Templeton family in Southbury, CT. It specializes in grass-fed, grass-finished Dexter beef and pasture-raised Tamworth pork, and also offers eggs, maple syrup, and farm-made soap. Because the operation remains small, every animal is hand-raised by the farmers themselves. Members can join a monthly meat subscription that lets them choose their own cuts each month from whatever is currently available, with eggs available as an add-on. Customers are welcome to visit the farm and ask questions about how the animals are raised and fed. Learn more on their About Page.
Aradia Farm raises two heritage breeds: Dexter cattle and Tamworth pigs. Both are kept on pasture year round across the farm's Southbury and Oxford locations. The Dexter cattle are grass-fed and grass-finished, receiving no supplementary grain; they also receive organic fruits and vegetables multiple times a week. The farm runs its own breeding program, cows give birth naturally in the pasture, and calves are left with their mothers to wean naturally. The Tamworth pigs have continuous access to large pastures where they can root and forage, and are fed a diet of grains, fruits, and vegetables in addition to what they forage. Pigs also receive organic fresh fruits and vegetables year round. The farm does not use gestation or farrowing crates; sows give birth naturally in large pens.
