Family-run California farm producing certified organic, extra virgin olive oil from high Sierra foothill orchards.
Apollo Olive Oil is a small, family-run farm founded in 1999 in the high Sierra foothills of Northern California, with its first commercial production two years later. The Stefanini family (Gianni and Diana) and Steve McCulley handle all orchard work, milling, blending, and operations. Apollo farms three orchards planted with more than twenty olive varieties of French, Italian, Spanish, Greek, and Tunisian origin. Its lineup includes two flagship blends, Mistral and Sierra, a rotating Gold Series of single-variety and orchard-blend oils, Salute, an everyday cooking oil, and a balsamic condiment. The oils have earned multiple Best of Show, Best of Class, and Gold Medal awards at international competitions, and Sierra has been recognized among the most awarded brands globally by the New York Olive Oil Competition.
Apollo Olive Oil tends its orchards using low-impact, organic methods and harvests olives by hand at optimum ripeness. Its oils are certified organic by CCOF (California Certified Organic Farmers) and certified extra virgin by the California Olive Oil Council (COOC). The oils are also Certified R.A.W. (through Clean Food Certified). Milling is done on a Cultivar vacuum mill developed by Marco Mugelli in collaboration with a Florentine engineering firm and designed to extract maximum flavor and polyphenols from the fruit. The oils are 100% cold-pressed and unadulterated. Apollo's orchards have been managed with the guidance of olive orchard consultant Antonio Isern since 2011.
